Ballum rides Kirk to Victory
There was no grand celebration on the 18th green for Ballum and Chris Kirk on Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
Playing in the penultimate group, Kirk knew that 12 under was probably good enough to win, but he still needed to wait for Ian Poulter to finish Nos. 17 and 18 for the victory to become official.
So when Poulter did not birdie the 17th or land a miraculous eagle on the 18th, Kirk didn't celebrate in front of a thousand screaming fans. The props he and Ballum got to enjoy were even better as Ballum took home the $50 weekly win.
